How to Photograph your Art

Your artwork is looking gorgeous, but do you struggle to make your artwork look as good in photos as it does in person? It is vital to have great images of your art. In a digital world, many people experience your artwork online so having a good impression makes a big difference.

This guide will walk you through the settings and components to consider when photographing your art with a DSLR camera. I personally think a DSLR takes the best photos, and it is worth it to me to use this instead of an iphone. If you don't have one of these cameras, you can rent one and take a bunch of photos at once, or borrow one from a friend or family member. I recommend eventually investing in one of these cameras, you can find them secondhand for a more affordable price! I use a full-frame sensor so that I can use them for large prints.

This guide goes over how to set up the lighting, framing, camera settings and more to get you started on your path to creating beautiful images of your art. These are the steps that I think about every time when taking pictures of my paintings for prints, social media, and my website.

I hope this is so helpful for you and that you learn a thing or two from this guide!
